When possible, please support your local yarn shop. They usually have amazing yarns, great service, thorough knowledge about knitting and, best of all, you get the see, feel and squeeze the yarn before you buy! Click here to search for local shops in your area (or in areas where you are traveling).
Knit Picks has a lovely selection of yarns, knitting needles and notions and accessories. They have very reasonable prices, a fairly low free shipping minimum (even to Canada), great customer service.
Ravelry is a fabulous repository of all things knitting. If you are looking for patterns, yarns, yarn stores, projects – just head over to Ravelry and search for it. Ravelry will show you examples of whatever it is and let you know where to get it in most cases. If you want to keep your projects lnotes in an easy to find central place – just head over to Ravelry.
